"Behave! Or I'll send you to McGregor", as our Breede Valley neighbours would warn their errant children. Maybe they still do, for little has changed in McGregor - the best preserved and most complete example of mid-nineteenth century townscape in the Cape Province. With its traditional, whitewashed, thatched cottages set in quiet streets, surrounded by mountains, wildlife, and wine estates, McGregor really is one of the jewels of South Africa.
Here on McGregor Village website, we have all you need for anything from a short getaway to a permanent relocation. The accommodation, restaurants, artists and healers, the hikes and the history - and a large range of cottages, farms and other properties for sale in the McGregor area, with our own agent to help you.

The Landmark Trust Leopard and Predator Project has released photographs of wild leopards, many taken near McGregor. They will shortly be installing more camera traps on the Skuilskrans Private Nature Reserve, a group of 10 retreats in the mountains above the village. We look forward to seeing the results.

Being a highly qualified and experienced town planner, Corrie had all the right skills to found Villagers Properties, which he did in 1990. Like all associated with the business, Corrie became very much a part of the local community . . .
